Examination of selected principles related to the continued development of the professional nurse as a provider of patient-centered care, patient safety advocate, member of health care team, and member of a profession. Emphasis on clinical decision making for clients in medical-surgical settings experiencing health problems involving fluid and electrolytes; perioperative care; pain; respiratory disorders; peripheral vascular disorders; immunologic disorders; and infectious disorders. Discussion of knowledge, judgment, skills, and professional values within a legal/ ethical framework.Prerequisites: BIOL 2301/2101, 2302/2102, and 2320/2120. PSYC 2301 and 2314; RNSG 1413, 1360.Co-requisites: ENGL 1301; RNSG 1412 and 1460.
